Art History in the Blind Spot: The Art Collector Yoon Sang and the Korean Art Scene of the 1950s

Details

To mark its 15th anniversary, the OCI Museum of Art will host a COLLOQUIUM on Wednesday, October 29, in conjunction with the collection exhibition In Search of the Forgotten Collector : Yoon Sang the Big Beard & the Memory of Muses.

Yoon Sang was a prominent 1950s collector who bridged the gap between tradition and modernity through seal engraving and the curation of contemporary art. In this colloquium, we aim to evaluate the modern art-historical significance of this forgotten collector and collectively envision the future of Korean art.
